Heli Skiing Wildstrubel

Pascal, Diderick, Olafur, and Viktor, all students from Le Rosey, signed up for a helicopter skiing expedition to the Wildstrubel. Peter the guide, Mr Brewer, and I accompanied them to ensure safety in the challenging terrain.

We flew by helicopter up the Saanen Valley to land on the Wildhorn summit at 3,248 metres. It's incredible and a very bizarre feeling to pass so close to the mountain, to see all the aspects and arrive at the top without expending any effort whatsoever.

After a short skin ascent, we descended through varied snow conditions, powder, crust, and slab. The students demonstrated skilled skiing technique throughout. We then climbed the Differhorn and descended toward Lenk, enjoying excellent tree skiing and diverse terrain.

The descent featured impressive tricks. Pascal performed a 360 and front flip, Diderick achieved massive air, and others displayed their own techniques. Mr Brewer also completed tricks of his own.

An incredible day out. An awesome bunch of students to share the experience with. All came back grinning from ear to ear. Happy Days!
